Rabbi Shimon Ishal (’92) officially announced today the opening of a new yeshiva high school in Los Angeles. The new school, Yeshivat Ohr Chanoch, will open this Fall and will cater to Sephardic students. The yeshiva is named after Rabbi A. Henach Leibowitz, zt”l, the rosh hayeshiva of Yeshivas Chofetz Chaim-RSA. The yeshiva will be headed by Rabbi Ishal and by Rabbi Yermiyahu Orenstein.
It seems that almost everyone was in the VTHS Beis Medrash learning at 11:00 PM last night!
Close to 100 alumni and friends joined together for the weekly (during the Summer) Mishmar from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Learning was followed by sushi, Pizza and ice cream.
Everyone is invited to join us next Thursday, same time, for learning and – back to the usual – chulent! Even better, Rabbi Stulberger will be back and giving a vaad at the mishmar.
