This year is different than other years. Valley Torah High School’s Annual Dinner was a Virtual Awards Show.
Awards were bestowed upon:
- Rabbi Asher & Chani Biron – Heroes of Jewish Education
- Dr. Babak Hakimisefat (Class of ’94) & Dr. Behzad Soufer (Class of ’00) – Heroes of Healing
- Briana (Beard) Bayar, RN (Class of ’05) – Heroine of Caring
The Awards show started promptly (there was no need for waiters to clean off the salad plates). There was a video of Moshe Storch and some VTHS students discussing their heroes and our Emcee for the evening, Ami Horowitz, interviewed our students about Covid School in his famous “Man on the Street” style.
One of our most outstanding students, a young lady that left Belarus on her own to seek a Jewish education and is now a VTHS senior, told her moving story of growth and her new family – her Valley Torah family.
The evening ended with profiles go each of our Heroes. One story out did the next.
